PL- Witajcie! Blog Tajlandia z wyboru zmienia ksztalt. ENG- Hello and welcome. My old blog has just changed its shape. Many changes to come in the nearest future so I have decided to swap to English. At first I would like to say sorry for all my mistakes in spelling. Secondly I hope I can get more readers this way and that you will all enjoy reading about my crazy fight I decided to take on. So... for those who do not know me yet. I am 28 now, born and raised in Poland. After many ups and downs I decided to study veterinary medicine and after six long years I graduated from University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Wroclaw. When I had my diploma I decided to move abroad. First, I went to Thailand for 4 months where I was working with Lanta Animal Welfare as a volunteer vet. It was an amazing time, a real eye-opener. I enjoyed my stay a lot, met tons of amazing people from all over the World. I was fulfilled and happy about all the amazing job we did saving hundreds of animals in need. After Thailand I decided to move to the UK to get better at what I am going to do for the rest of my life. It was the best thing I did back then. I started working as a small animal vet in a practice in Wales. After 6 months of getting familiar with medical English and new surroundings I wanted to learn even more and I moved to England. I joined a fantastic team of dedicated animal lovers at Rogers, Brock and Barker- my last practice. 18 months of work for RBB were filled with amazing people, amazing medical cases and a fair bit of travelling. You can have a look at my previous posts and see some pics. I traveled across Europe, Vietnam and Japan. I am sure that my previous posts for those of you who speak English are only pictures but it should give you an idea. Anyway... Today is a big day. Back in December last year I was in Vietnam just for two weeks, where I joined Vietnam Animal Welfare Organization. A similar animal shelter as in Thailand. There are several reasons why I did it. First of all I needed to go back to Asia. I absolutely adore this part of the World and simply cannot live without if for long. Secondly, my Thailand placement thought me a lot. I learned how to be a better vet, I learned about what is important in being a vet. It is neither glamour, nor money. It is all about a life that you can save. In the end of the day, saving an animal feels like the best thing ever. Asia needs help. Asian animals do. They need time, money, volunteers, vets, all hands on deck they can get. After December I was faced with a difficult decision. I was either to stay in the UK with my comfortable life, or throw myself into this absolutely wild ride of fighting for animal welfare in Asia, in Vietnam this time in particular. I decided to leave the UK and join Vietnam Animal Welfare Organisation full time. I finished my UK job today. I am moving to Vietnam next week. I have no idea what is going to happen. All I can give you here is what I am about to experience. It is not going to be an amazing read but sure as fuck it is going to be honest. Pure truth. Be like a turtle. Steady but forward. Screw your belongings, take what you need with you and jump into deep water. So... if you want to join me this way... please, sit back and enjoy the ride.
